Lars Larson: Musk Memo for the NW

By

NW and national radio host,

Americans on the political left lost their minds last week when Elon Musk of DOGE sent an email to a couple of million federal workers asking them what work they got done the previous week.

“How dare you question the value of these well-compensated, unfireable federal employees”, they shrieked.

Maybe we need that kind of accountability here in the Northwest.

ODOT was forced to confess it made a billion dollar mistake in its budget simply because they didn’t do basic accounting.

In Washington State, lawmakers wrote a budget that drove them 16 billion into the red so Governor Fergie plans layoffs, furloughs and cuts.

In Portland, the city has 300-million into a 2 billion dollar water plant that they failed to get land use approval for…and that could cancel the whole thing.

In Multnomah County, an audit shows that after spending literally hundreds of millions the last couple of years, they still can’t tell you how many people are becoming homeless and how many get out.

The same county has declared a 16% result in so-called “deflection” of hard drug addicts is a huge success.

Could some elected official, somewhere in the Northwest, please send a Musk Style memo to find out what citizens are actually buying for the billions in taxes they pay?
