HB 3329 gives a stunning 40% increase in film tax cash grants/credits to Hollywood style film companies in Oregon. It would increase the amount from $20 million to $28 million.

Remember, epic Hollywood wretch, Harvey Weinstein, funded his film empire based upon government tax credits.

Also, nothing says a long term investment of out tax dollars than a private one-time movie shoot.

This is not proper use of our tax dollars.  Oregon film production tax credits are a waste of taxpayer dollars — especially when politicians are saying they are out of money and need to raise taxes.

Hb 3329 passed out of Committee yesterday and will soon be up for a floor vote.

HB 3329 summary, “The measure increases the allowable amount of tax credits for certified film production contributions from $20 million to $28 million” . HB 3329 is sponsored by Representative Javadi, Senator Frederick, Reynolds
