Republican Statewide Candidates

If you have paid any attention to the news over the past few months, you will know there is no shortage of Democrat candidates for statewide office. In the coveted Secretary of State’s race, Senators Kate Brown, Vicki Walker and Brad Avakian are gearing up for what could be an entertaining showdown between sitting State Senators, with rumors of a possible entry by Rick Metsger. Greg Macpherson and newcomer John Kroger, both from Lake Oswego, will battle it out in the primary for an Attorney General bid. And the all-but-announced infamous Ben Westlund is poised to make a run for State Treasurer.

Of course, there have been murmurings of Republican candidates, but no official declarations. So the opinion of Oregon Catalyst readers is sought”¦
