Inappropriate! Hours before gun bill hearing details kept hidden.

The big gun control bill, HB 3075, is 34-pages long and it is up for a hearing this afternoon.

The neutral official state explanation of the measure was not available to the public on the morning of the hearing.   This means citizens have a no way of knowing if this 34-page bill will cost millions to implement or whether it will raise millions, tens of millions, or more.

Dear media, lawmakers, lobbyists and citizens; this delay of bill explanations is a blow to transparency and public participation in the Capitol.

Ordinary citizens do not have a team of standby lawyers to go through as many as 50 bills a week that are having hearings or amended work sessions.

People of all political sides and parties should be concerned.

Just because the politicians introduced a history record-breaking 4,000 bills doesn’t mean that votes get to have their access blocked because the system can’t explain what they are doing on time.
