Senate Bill 110 is a bill directing the State of Oregon to study income taxes.

Sometimes these study bills are a placeholder for a gut-and-stuff (actual tax increase bill) a few weeks later.  Other times, these study bills are a way to use taxpayer dollars to create a report on increasing (maybe lowering) taxes.

Nonetheless, the Taxpayers Association of Oregon submitted this super-simple testimony on Senate Bill 110.

If the State of Oregon wishes to “study” income taxes …

… we first recommend that Oregon “study” how income taxes are misspent

• Ÿ $28 billion unsustainable PERS pension debt
• Ÿ $1.1 billion ODOT accidental over-spend
• Ÿ $2.8 billion accounting errors identified by auditors

Oregon has the highest income tax in the nation for average middle class families.   They do not need to pay more.  Our government needs to waste less — as in waste billions less.
