Lars Larson: Feds doing what Oregon refuses to do (fight crime)

The Northwest Nonsense

Anybody who cares about public safety should notice a disturbing pattern.

Federal law enforcement has lately been busting lots of dangerous, armed drug dealers.

Local law enforcement, not so much.

It’s no mystery why. Voters in Oregon and the courts in Washington wiped out tough penalties for hard drugs.

Then state lawmakers dithered about fixing it, even while the overdose death count skyrocketed.

So, the Feds have been making the busts that local law enforcement won’t, at least since Trump.

Last weekend, federal agents busted an illegal drug “sunday market” selling everything from mushrooms to ketamine, LSD to cocaine.

The property owner now faces drug and gun charges.

Seattle saw five men busted on charges they trafficked drugs in homeless camps.

If you wonder what’s driving so much of the car thefts, property crime, neighborhood shootings and the murder rate in both states, the drug business should be your first suspect.

Put together lax drug laws, thousands of homeless camps, defunded police, delinquent prosecutors and sanctuary status and you have the perfect storm…and apparently so-called leaders here in the Northwest don’t really care who gets wet.

That’s the Rose City Rap. Join me at noon on KXL for 4 hours of Honestly provocative talk. I’m Lars Larson
