This week the Joint Transportation panel held three hearings on their $1 to $2 billion transportation bill that includes 11 new/higher taxes.  The politicians are pushing this bill so fast that there is no official explanation of how much th3 tax would raise.

The politicians aim to pass it without asking voters.   If this massive tax passes there is an effort gaining ground to launch a referendum petition drive to force the issue to the ballot so voters can decide.  Former State Senator Brian Boquist, auto dealers, Taxpayers Association of Oregon and others are part of this effort.
