Senate Republicans Release Interactive Map Showing Overwhelming Statewide Opposition to Tina Kotek’s $4.3B Transportation Tax Hike

By Oregon State Senate Republican Caucus,

SALEM, Ore. – Senate Republicans today unveiled an interactive map detailing over 5,000 pieces of written testimony submitted to the Oregon Legislature on Governor Tina Kotek’s proposed $4.3 billion transportation tax hike. The map, which organizes testimony by city, vividly illustrates that opposition spans from urban, suburban, and rural areas alike.

“The scale and breadth of this opposition is undeniable. From small towns to big cities, Oregonians are speaking with one voice, telling us that this $4.3 billion tax hike is the wrong path forward,” said Senate Republican Leader Bruce Starr (R-Dundee). “Senate Republicans have repeatedly proposed real solutions that keep ODOT workers on the job and preserve critical operations and maintenance without forcing families to pay more, yet partisan politics continues to take precedence over compromise. We will continue to stand with the thousands of Oregonians demanding their government live within its means just like every family in this state must.”
