OFS names Sen. Starr lawmaker of the year

Press Release by the GOP Senate Office:

Salem, OR — Oregonians for Food and Shelter (OFS) has named Senator Starr Bruce (R-Hillsboro) a Legislative All-Star for the 2007 session. The All-Star designation recognizes Starr’s hard work and effectiveness on behalf of Oregon’s natural resource-related employers and communities.

“Bruce Starr is known across his district as a friend of agriculture and the environment,” said Marie Finegan, a local farmer. “Bruce can be counted on to bring common sense solutions to problems facing local agriculture, business and the environment.”

In the 2007, OFS focused on legislation relating to pesticide use, an adequate water supply, and other farm and forest concerns.

“I am honored by the recognition of Oregon’s natural resource leaders,” said Starr. “It is a privilege to represent those families and businesses that have pioneered responsible, wise stewardship of our most valuable resources: our land, air and water.”

Oregonians for Food and Shelter is an Oregon-based, non-profit coalition of individuals, businesses and organizations. They are united to promote the efficient production of quality food and forest products while protecting human health, personal property and the environment through the integrated, responsible use of pest management products, soil nutrients and biotechnology.
