ODOT gives away free $3M (EV items) as they claim broke

The Oregon Department of Transportation just sent out an announcement that they have $3 million dollars to give away to anyone that will build a Level 2 electric vehicle charging station. This comes as ODOT says they are broke and cannot keep our roads safe without the $4.3 billion gas tax bill awaiting Governor Tina Kotek’s signature. ODOT says they can’t repair dangerous roads and snow plow hazard areas with the current budget. Well, three million could plow a lot of cities.

This $3 million dollar grant only serves the richest Oregonians because only 3% of Oregonians have an electric vehicle at an average cost of $60,000.

This is similar to the summer program where Oregon Department of Health gives away free $120 gift cards for groceries to anyone who wants it.  Government has so much money they have to announce it everyone in order to give it away.

As stated, the $4.3 billion gas tax bill is on the Governor’s desk.  Signatures cannot be collected to repeal the tax until the bill is signed and it becomes official.
