(video) ICE protest looks like “mayhem” that politicians deny

Here is video from the Portland ICE building protest on Saturday October 18, 2025 following the No Kings Day rally.

How did this response get so aggressive?

For starters, the street outside the ICE building was taken over.

A lot of chaos happens once the street was taken over. A person fell and needed medical attention.  People started throwing objects.  There was an altercation between two people requiring the polcie to extract a man. Vehicles got stuck in the blocked traffic.  A man began wandering in the middle of the street with a flare.  This was all within 90 minutes of observations.

Then it was time for a vehicle to exit the ICE building.  Agents came out to clear the way, but the crowds were resistant.  There was also an unauthorized drone that went into the ICE building.  Around this is when the pepper-gas starting being launched in order to clear the area.
