No amount of dancing inflatable mascots at a riot can make the long record of the violence disappear at the Portland ICE building.

Oregon U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley’s awful statement of “Portlanders are demonstrating with joy and whimsy” is a disrespect to the ICE agents and their property being attacked continually. Nearly 100 arrests, plenty of injured ICE agents and journalists, and a spike in area 911 calls followed by police not responding to residents’ 911 calls.
