Ex-Commissioner, Leftist activist escapes country during trail

KGW-TV reports, Fformer Clackamas County Commissioner and liberal activist, Melissa Fireside is reportedly involved in an evolving theft trial, is now under suspicion of having  left the country with her son.

Some are stating that she crossed into Mexico and has fled to Europe.  Court documents detail charges of stealing over $30,000 from her mother’s boyfriend, an 83-year-old resident of Lake Oswego. On Friday, the Oregon Department of Justice (DOJ) announced it has filed a motion to revoke Fireside’s conditional release. It appears that she may not be residing at her registered address in Morrow County, as she is required to do unless she receives authorization from the court to leave the state. Concerns about her whereabouts were raised by her former partner, who informed the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office after discovering that she removed their 9-year-old child from school. He expressed worry for his son’s safety, noting that it appears Fireside has “apparently fled the country.”
