Rep. Helfrich on Rowena fire

State Funding for Rowena Fire Recovery

By Oregon State Representative Jeff Helfrich,

Hood River, OR – Representative Jeffrey Helfrich (R-Hood River) and Wasco County Commissioner Scott Hege had the following to say on the Joint Emergency Board allocating $2.5 million to wildfire recovery for the community of Rowena earlier this week:

“I want to thank my colleagues for hearing the concerns of Wasco County, and the people in the community of Rowena,” said Representative Helfrich. “The county has stepped up and is able to do the clean-up, and I am glad we were able to get them paid for it from the state. I know there is more work to be done and am committed to seeing this through!”

“Jeff has continuously advocated for our needs here at the county level, and his push for this $2.5 million we desperately needed to do the clean-up is the latest example,” said Commissioner Hege. “That community has already endured so much, and I am grateful that we will be able to do the clean-up so people can move forward with rebuilding their lives. I know Jeff will continue to be a strong advocate for our needs!”
