Kotek blames Trump for shutdown in new video

Oregon governor and now 2026 governor candidate, Tina Kotek, put out her first campaign video of the new campaign.   Kotek’s video accuses President Trump of creating a food emergency when food stamps were cut-off during the shutdown.

President Trump did not create the shutdown.  In the United States Senate, there were at least a dozen votes to continue funding the federal government at current levels and U.S. Senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley voted “no” each time.   That caused the funding crisis.
