Marijuana sees 70% price drop

By Taxpayers Association of Oregon Foundation,

On one hand, supply of cannabis has broken new records, while on the other, prices continue to drop.

The law of supply and demand has taken hold in the Oregon cannabis market, which saw record harvests of 12.18 million pounds this year but a drop in retail prices of 7.5 percent this year to $3.33 per gram. Federal bans on cannabis make it impossible for people in the industry to file bankruptcy, seek bridge loans or access new markets across state lines, despite the proliferation of harvested marijuana—9.2 percent more than in 2024, according to numbers from the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission. Prices have dropped by 70 percent since the height of the pandemic.
