ODOT backtracks, admits petition has suspended gas tax

It was weeks ago that the Oregon Department of Transportation put out an alert that the HB 3991 gas tax was going into effect.

– The Governor had not even signed the bill
– The campaign to start a referendum challenge petition was created.

ODOT mentioned none of this.

Now that 200,000 early turn-in signatures were submitted, the Department has to backtrack and tell effected industries the truth which they knew from the start, that the gas tax increase was in a contented process and in no way guaranteed to become law as they had suggested.
