Vote No on HB 4134

Hotel taxes are too high and suffer too many other fees.

House Bill 2977 raises the hotel lodging tax and funds an Oregon wildlife program.

Tourism taxes are already going up in Oregon.

There are nearly a dozen recreation-related fees going up in 2026 which include;
– camping fees,
– tent fees,
– RV site fees,
– yurt fees,
– boat fees,
– paddle board fees, and
– state park parking fees.

The last gas tax increase happened just 13 MONTHS AGO (1/1/2024) where Oregon happens to rate among the highest in both gas taxes and gas prices.

(prices from fall 2025)

Some Oregon cities passed their own hotel tax increases in the past few years.

Some tourism industries are leaving Oregon due to high liability insurance costs. That is a tax that you may not see but businesses owners pay.

Stop the all-out tax attack on Oregon tourism. No On HB 4134
