Blazer arena tax bailout bill eyes $600M

The taxpayer bailout for the Blazer arena Moda Center, Senate Bill 1501, is still alive in the State Capitol.  Willamette Week reports that the bill is asking for nearly $365 million in taxpayer assistance to remodel the arena. Multnomah County is planning $88 million and the city of Portland $120 million. The Rose Garden arena and property are owned by the City of Portland. They pay little property taxes on it. Now they want a taxpayer bailout.
