Rep. Helfrich: Comment on latest assassination attempt

Third Assassination Attempt of President Trump

Hood River, OR – Representative Jeffrey Helfrich (R-Hood River) had the following to say on the third assassination of attempt of President Trump:

“Once again, we see that democrats’ permissive attitude to violent rhetoric has created a homegrown domestic terrorist.

You cannot spend every waking moment demonizing someone for their political beliefs and then be surprised when violence ensues. Anyone who does not join me in condemning this assassination attempt has lost the plot and is betraying Oregonians who want solutions to their problems, not murder.”

On Saturday April 25th, a gunman armed with a shotgun and handgun was shot and taken into custody after rushing security at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner that President Trump was attending. This follows incidents in Butler, Pennsylvania and West Palm Beach, Florida in 2024.
