Portland passes road fee. Joins 30 other Oregon cities

Portland just passed a transportation utility fee which will hit people on their sewer bill.  For homes it will cost $12 a month or $144/year.  For commercial property it will be $61/month or over $700 a year.

Portland hopes to raise $40 million from this tax.  This big tax comes on top of Portland’s 10-cent gas tax.

Over 30 other cities have some form of transportation utility fee.
