Sec-of-State should take a pledge to be nonpolitical, nonpartisan

As the Taxpayers Association raised earlier this week, the state’s highest election official is the Secretary of State and Tobias Read has been using government resources to showcase elected officials who are also candidates during the middle of election where people are casting ballots.

This is a form of violating the spirit of electioneering laws.

We should require all our Secretary of States to pledge to carry out their work in a nonpartisan and nonpolitical fashion.  As of right now by what we have received, all of the Secretary of State’s government town hall lawmaker guests were of the same political party.  All of the lawmakers guests were on the ballot and voters were in the middle of voting.
