Lars Larson: Kotek now set up for a losing Nov. election

By Lars Larson
NW and national radio host,

The Northwest Nonsense:

The numbers in Oregon’s primary election tell quite a story, and it’s not a good one for incumbent Democrat and failed Governor Tina Kotek.

The multi-billion-dollar tax hike to feed the gluttonous ODOT failed miserably.

Measure 120 went down to defeat 83 to 17.

That’s the tax increase Kotek demanded from lawmakers just 7 months ago.

The tax law Kotek refused to sign for 6 weeks to delay signature gathering to refer it to voters.

The Democrats’ stalling failed.

Kotek now faces off against Republican lawmaker Christine Drazan in November for the second time.  Only this time, Drazan can campaign on the massive failure of Kotek’s policies:

Homelessness…bigger and worse.

Housing…short supply and outrageously priced.

Crime and disorder…out of control.

And now, the rejection of Kotek’s tax package by a margin of more than 4 to 1.

Maybe voters noticed the 600 million for the Trailblazer arena put the lie to Oregon being short of cash.

The Governor, elected on stolen cryptocurrency, has delivered a set of winning issues for Christine Drazan to run on.

That’s the Rose City Rap.  Join me at noon on KXL for 4 hours of honestly provocative talk.  I’m Lars Larson.
