The American 250th semiquincentennial is a once in a lifetime event.  To celebrate at the National Mall a National State Fair has been created where all 50 states can show off their wonders.

• Wisconsin showed off Harley Davidson motorcycles.
• Florida made a mini-put put golf course.
• Montana featured a prominent, large-scale apatosaurus rib cage.
• Ohio did a children’s themed exhibit.

Oregon?

Oregon was no where to be seen. A few chairs and a wall mural noting that this was the spot designated for Oregon.  That was all to see.

Oregon Governor Tina Kotek said she pulled out of the fair as a way to save money. Save money?

It was Kotek who took 10 staff members on a quarter million tax-funded trip to Asia just a few months ago.

Here is a list of the states that chose not to participate in the American State Fair to honor our nation’s 250th.
