CANBY, Ore. – Gubernatorial candidate Senator Christine Drazan (R-Canby) has accepted invitations to participate in two debates in Portland ahead of the general election, giving voters the opportunity to hear directly from the candidates about their records and competing visions for the state. The first will be hosted by KGW and The Oregonian in October. The second will be hosted by KPTV in partnership with the Oregon District Attorneys Association (ODAA), the Oregon State Sheriffs Association (OSSA) and the Oregon Association Chiefs of Police (OACP) in September.

Drazan will also attend the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association debate this Friday, a longstanding tradition in Oregon gubernatorial elections. Tina Kotek declined to participate in the debate.

“I’m running for governor to make life more affordable for families across our state—to make Oregon the best place in the nation to raise a family, start a business, buy a home and receive a world class education. I look forward to the opportunity to share more about my vision with voters and give them a clear choice about the future of our state,” said Drazan.

Drazan will announce additional debates in the coming weeks.
