Oregon Senators file legal action against CDC

In Medford, State Senators Kim Thatcher (R-Keizer) and Sen. Dennis Linthicum (R-Klamath Falls) filed a formal petition for a federal grand jury investigation into the actions by CDC and FDA during the COVID-19 pandemic. The request for the investigation was a months-long collaboration between scientists and public policy  and legal experts on behalf of more than 62,200 Americans who signed a public petition gathered by an organization called Stand for Health Freedom.

A grand jury investigation is a group of citizens who are empowered by law to conduct legal proceedings, investigate potential criminal conduct, and determine whether criminal charges should be brought.

The Senators’ letter and the petition included 8 exhibits and 20 references of evidentiary materials that allegedly show a need to formally investigate the CDC and FDA for willful misconduct during the COVID-19 pandemic. For example, in March 2020, according to a paper published in the journal Science, Public Health Policy, and The Law, the CDC abruptly changed how death certificates were recorded for only one type of death – COVID-19 – and circumvented multiple federal laws to do so.
