A damning report from the Federalists shows that the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles passed along 54,600 voters without verifying citizen. They instead allowed people to check a box claiming that they were citizens.

The Federalist reports, “Under this system, the DMV has sent more than 54,600 voter registrations of individuals who have not proven citizenship to Democrat Secretary of State LaVonne Griffin-Valade from June 2021 to October 2024, according to documents obtained by The Federalist. The Federalist obtained documents that the DMV sent Diehl after the meeting. These documents confirm that the agency is registering potential noncitizens to vote if they simply claim eligibility…Jeff Eager, former mayor of Bend, Oregon, who writes on state politics, told The Federalist he has been trying to obtain public records regarding the “motor voter” program placing noncitizens on the rolls. The DMV postponed releasing records until after the election.“It looks to me like they’re playing games with the response by continually delaying it,” Eager said. “The concern here is that it’s the tip of the iceberg, because you have the majority of voters in Oregon having registered to vote without providing proof of citizenship at all.”

Roughly 306 non-citizens were illegally on the voter rolls mere weeks before early ballots were mailed last September. A week passed and the number grew to 1,259 people. Griffin-Valade blamed DMV and assured the public the issue was fixed-but the number of illegal voters grew again to 1,617 by election night. Now Oregon is facing more non-citizens from this wider pool of 54,600 voters.

While Oregon is burning in this evolving election scandal, 8 states voted to ban non-citizen voting in the recent November election — Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Wisconsin.
