HOUSE REPUBLICAN LEADER STATEMENT ON STATE FORESTER RESIGNATION

SALEM, Ore. – Today, House Republican Leader Christine Drazan (R-Canby) released the following statement, following State Forester Calvin Mukumoto’s resignation:

“Given the needs of the Department of Forestry, I fully support State Forester Calvin Mukumoto’s decision to resign. Oregon needs a strong, visionary leader who will address the Department’s budgetary woes with urgency, maintain an open line of communication with the legislature, and work collaboratively with local, state and federal leaders to prevent catastrophic wildfires. I want to thank Calvin for his service to the Department of Forestry and our state.”
