Oregon Tea Party PAC: First candidate endorsement

Oregon Tea Party PAC

Art Robinson, Oregon’s Fourth Congressional District – A Champion of Smaller Government

Portland, OR – The Oregon Tea Party PAC has announced their formal endorsement of Art Robinson for U.S. Congress in Oregon’s 4th District. This is the first of many public endorsements of candidates in Oregon to come, leading up to election day on November 6.

Oregon Tea Party PAC recognizes that Art Robinson is a true advocate and defender of the American First Principles of fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government, economic freedom and individual liberty. The Tea Party has always stood for these simple principles as envisioned by America’s Founders to maintain liberty and prosperity for all. We strongly believe Art Robinson would be the best individual to truly represent all the voters in Oregon’s 4th District.

The Chairman of Oregon Tea Party, John Kuzmanich, said, “We believe that Dr. Robinson’s strong resume, multifaceted background and lifetime of achievement and service make him uniquely qualified to do the work necessary in U.S. Congress to help guide it back to its original intent of representing the people against the interests of big government, not the other way around.”

Kuzmanich continued, “We plan on releasing several more endorsements over the coming days, which will coincide with organizing volunteers and fundraisers to get directly involved in our endorsed campaigns. We are confident that we will see victory in November, and we plan to do everything we can to achieve that goal.”

Jeff Reynolds, a member of the OTP PAC Leadership Council, stated, “Many of us have been deeply involved in campaigns for several years now, as we transition from merely a group of rallies to actual boots on the ground, direct political involvement. We plan to roll out several public efforts and events this election season to put a publicly recognizable image to the involvement that our hundreds of activists have engaged in over these past several months.”

ABOUT OREGON TEA PARTY: From its inception in February 2009, the Tea Party movement has focused on three core values:

  • Constitutionally Limited Government
  • Free Market Principles
  • Fiscal Responsibility

Is Defazio still trying to avoid debating Robinson?

  • valley person

With an endorsement like this, Robinson should easily knock off Defazio given how crazy right wing his district is.

    Oh wait….

    • Judahlevi

valley, you really are on the wrong website. Sarcasm is the lowest form of humor.

      • DavidAppell

Yes, VP — if you can’t adhere to the party line, please don’t disturb the mutual backclapping.

        • Judahlevi

David, I think you meant “backslapping.”
And you call other people “intellectual clowns?”

          • DavidAppell

No. I meant what I wrote.

          • Judahlevi

Sure you did. Want to show us in a dictionary where the word “backclapping” is?

          • 3H

Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t that sarcasm?

      • 3H

That reminds me, how is your campaign to silence Libs on here going? I haven’t seen any announcements about banning us from commenting yet, so perhaps you haven’t broached the topic?

        • DavidAppell

Also, how exactly did the government silence that guy who made that bad Muslim movie?

        • Judahlevi

No, I haven’t broached the subject yet. Letting you guys add more ammunition for why a small group of liberals, whose primary purpose seems to be to try to insult other posters and Republicans, should not be allowed to post here. It certainly seems to violate the raison d’etre of this site.

          • 3H

Insulting is indeed bad… regardless of where on the political spectrum it comes from, wouldn’t you agree?

      • HBguy

You may have misspoke there. The saying is “puns are the lowest form of humor.

I wasn’t going to say anything, but then you two got to backslapping, or is it back clapping, each other. Maybe its back stabbing. (oops. Thats a pun. That was low)

        • Judahlevi

I wasn’t quoting a saying. Oscar Wilde said that sarcasm was the “lowest form of wit”, but as with all value statements that are subjective, it was only his opinion. It is my opinion that sarcasm is indeed the lowest form of humor, not puns. Sarcasm is designed to denigrate and ridicule which is usually hurtful, not helpful.

          • valley person

You sound like a moral relativist Juda. That would put you on the wrong site. This is a site for conservative Republicans. Morality and values are absolute and not subjective at all.

      • valley person

        I was aiming for irony.

  • DavidAppell

Is Art Robinson still in favor of building houses from radioactive materials? For the health benefits, of course….

DeFazios biggest strength is he is an extremely likable guy and has the ability to sound like he is actually listening to, and considering, his districts opinions. Once in DC it’s a different matter. It’s surprising any Republican could get close at all to DeFazio, considering his district. The fact that Republicans could do so with someone like Robinson shows that a moderate Republican, with extreme likeability would do well. Art Robinson is a smart guy, and may be very likable. However, likeable or not, that side of him was not broadcast to the extent it needs to be this time around. DeFazio will win with a greater margin than two years ago. Republicans can win this seat, but it will take a whole lot of personality to do so.

    • DavidAppell

Correction: Art Robinson is (as they say) a Republican’s idea of what a smart guy sounds like. In reality he is an intellectual clown.

      • Judahlevi

        “he is an intellectual clown”

        And what are you, David?

      • Rupert in Springfield

Obviously you have no idea whatsoever of Robinsons history of accomplishments. The man is obviously smart. Your inability to admit that indicates you are obviously just a petty frustrated guy. Grow up.

  • Judahlevi

The Tea Party is a wonderful organization with the right ideas about government, free markets, and financial responsibility. Government should be as small as possible, private markets should be free to prosper, and there should be a balanced federal budget with borrowing only for national emergencies.
These are excellent values which would be beneficial for the country, and the economy, if they were endorsed and observed.

    • DavidAppell

      > Government should be as small as possible

It should be smaller than that, don’t you think? Them being Nazis and all….

Can it be shrunk to less than zero? Are the extremists looking into this??

  • Independent Voter

Is Robinson still campaigning? Haven’t heard or seen anything from him. Making a big push at the end?
