Test Test, Alright so as a convo starter….. who do you all think will show up on the Dem side of the debate table tonight? Angry Joe, Gaffe Prone Joe, Wildly Bombastic Joe, or Crazy Uncle Joe? I know I just listed a lot of Joes but let’s call it one Joe per stump story fable he’s been telling recently.

  • Mind over Matters

I predict it will come off as silly. Lots of zingers, not much factual, solid debate.

  • VP Party HQ

I just surveyed my pals on your question. Bob and Lois both say crazy uncle Joe. I disagree. Biden only makes gaffes when he is among friends. He knows how to be proper.

  • SStumper

    Why not all four Bidens?

  • Bob

looking forward to seeing smokn’ Joe blow lots of smoke

  • Aaron

Good point I think Biden will be aggressive but prone to slip up with his own storytelling….should be a good evening of hold your breath politics…lol.

  • VP Debate HQ

Biden will chase down You Tube to the gates of hell. No one is tougher on ficticious enemies than Obama-Biden

  • Aaron

GI Joe and Malarchy….Ryan isn’t looking great but nothing really bad or good for either side so far.

  • VP Debate HQ

Biden just blamed the intelligence community. It is official, Biden has an intelligence problem

  • Aaron

Very Telling that State Dept and Intelligence rank and file have been giving leaks this week, they aren’t happy about being the scapegoats of Obama/Biden political games.

    • Tim Lyman

Biden’s throwing those guys and gals under the bus is going to mean more, and more damaging, leaks in the next few days. You don’t PO the people who know your dirty secrets.

  • Aaron

Bunch of “stuff” …. so Joe seems to be trying to play friendly attack dog. Loose talk, all this talk, not true, my friend.. not as believable.

  • Aaron

A definite different and more aggressive usage of moderation this evening. A little more choppy and leading, it’s broken up what could have been a couple of better responses…but I haven’t felt it’s been too unfair.

  • Aaron

    Laughter….was PRICELESS

  • bigW

    Green pork….the other political meat

  • VP Debate HQ

Ron Wyden supports Romney! We all know it iis true!!!!

  • Tim Lyman

Biden has gone from affable to nasty – sniping at Martha – bad move!

  • bigW

Tim you have a point. I feel murmurs that Biden is disrepecting the moderator. I don’ think I see him respecting anyone.Bad for poise, presidentiality and for womens vote.

  • Tim Lyman

Ryan doing a good job of explaining detrimental effects of higher taxes on small business.

  • Tim Lyman

Ryan making the weeds of tax reform understandable – you may no

  • VP Debate HQ

After Obama attacks You Tube he will send drones on Hedgefunds!!!
Who knew that Americans were to blame for their problems

  • Tim Lyman

Senator Bob Packwood (driving force of 1986 tax reform) would disagree with Bidden’s remark that Reagan had specifics before working it out in congress.

  • Tim Lyman

Ryan turns the tables on Biden re: not demonizing.

  • Tim Lyman

Ryan making the weeds of tax reform understandable – you may not agree with him, but you know what he’s saying.

  • VP Debate HQ

The MODERATOR needs to MODERATE and stop joe from cuttn’ in.

  • Tim Lyman

Biden just described Rumsfeld’s plan for a leaner, meaner military.

  • Tim Lyman

Biden just pulled the “Osama is dead, so the mission is complete” fallacy.

  • Tim Lyman

    Bid

  • BigW

I am not sure there is much disagreement on Afghanistan.

  • Tim Lyman

Biden brings up negative possibilities in Afghanistan, not good for his team, makes voters anxious about Afghanistan.

  • Tim Lyman

Ryan takes Biden’s lead-in and maintains that Oba

  • Tim Lyman

Sorry – my touchpad is giving me trouble.

Ryan takes Biden’s lead-in and makes talking point that Obama foreign policy is falling apart.

  • BigW

    Martha, Martha, Martha…..

  • Tim Lyman

Raddich takes the Afghanistan in trouble ball and runs with it.

  • Tim Lyman

“What was the military reason for bringing those troops home.” OUCH!

  • Tim Lyman

Sorry Martha – RADDATZ. I don’t watch ABC.

  • Tim Lyman

Raddatz or Raddich, she’s beating the hell out of Lehrer. Neither of these guys intimidate her.

  • me

We need more snow in Afghanistan!

  • Tim Lyman

    Biden is losing it.

  • Tim Lyman

“It’s a different country.” In fairness, his base probably did to have that explained to them.

  • Aaron

Wow Joe is just so chippy…Angry Joe is breaking out.

  • TheBrainTrain

Despite the 25,000 deaths in Syria’s Civil War, they’re still 575,000 behind the U.S.’s

    • Tim Lyman

      We’re number 1! USA! USA!

  • Tim Lyman

Ryan disses and compliments Hillary in the same sentence.

  • Aaron

Sen Hatfield used to tell me: “Any time a US Senator calls you a “friend” start looking around for the knife, and odds are if it’s not there already, it’s about to be in your back”

  • Tim Lyman

I think Raddatz is falling for Ryan.

  • Tim Lyman

The abortion question and the veiled reference to Romney’s religion.

  • Aaron

Catholic Abortion Views….wow no pulled punches going straight at the question.

  • Tim Lyman

Even if you disagree with Ryan on abortion, you can’t hate on him after that story.

  • VP Debate HQ

    Beannie Babies?

  • Tim Lyman

Ryan may have pushed it with the China remark.

  • Aaron

I don’t think so Tim, the China comments were universally viewed as an Oh Wow Opps moment.

    • Tim Lyman

I meant in the sense that he seemed a little nasty.

  • Tim Lyman

“we pick people … who would not come with agendas.” Whopper of the night.

  • Aaron

Binden’s original remarks, not Ryan’s reference to them, to clarify.

  • Tim Lyman

I was waiting for the 47%. Biden could not have used it more ineffectively and inappropriately if he tried.

  • Tim Lyman

Ryan hits “if you don’t have a record to run on” again.

  • BigW

    broken promises works best.
    Biden does have passion edge

  • Tim Lyman

Ryan closes with the debt & broken promises.

  • Tim Lyman

I was right, Raddatz has the hots for Ryan.

  • Tim Lyman

Martha B slaps Biden over the 40 seconds remark.

  • VP Debate HQ

did Biden just say “everyone knows what I say I do?”
That is what we are AFRAID of!

  • Tim Lyman

Biden tries to fly the 47% flag again.

  • Aaron

47% was def a talking point to use.

  • VP Debate HQ

Class warfare, hmmm, just what America needs

  • Tim Lyman

    Rya

  • Tim Lyman

Ryan’s speech sounds a little too speechy.

  • VP Debate HQ

    Too Stategery?

  • Aaron

Ryan on the other hand is definitely being sent to be the Mitt Romney pitch man, not as smooth as Biden, but not as off-puttingly angry as well.

  • Tim Lyman

Ryan looked young, energetic, friendly, Biden started too laughy, finished too mean.

  • TheBrainTrain

Biden still thinks a government that is 16 trillion in debt needs to help us save our money. LOL privatize Social Security.

  • Aaron

Brilliant, initial numbers show Biden talking more time than Ryan.

  • Tim Lyman

Listen – it’s the sound of the Obama campaign circling the drain.

  • Tim Lyman

Let’s see what spin alley looks like. More red signs = spinners think Ryan won, more blue signs = Biden win.

  • Aaron

Joe Trippi calls Biden’s performance lessened by the delivery.

  • Aaron

Joe really came off as an insincere sneer-er….from my biased perspective.

  • Bob Clark

Biden wasn’t an empty chair, and blew enough smoke to pull the emotional chains of the audience. So, I don’t think we GOP’rs gain any points tonight. Biden is a wiley, trickey politician; and debates are often won by such a politician. So, we have to hope for another empty chair performance by Obama next Tuesday.

    • 3H

” Biden is a wiley, trickey politician; and debates are often won by such a politician. So, we have to hope for another empty chair performance by Obama next Tuesday.”

Are you saying that Romney is a wile and tricky politician?

  • Aaron

I’d call it a draw, while I don’t agree with Biden’s stances I think he gave better flow in responses and the confidence of delivery, but then lost ground with his demeanor at the same time. Biden may have “won” but I don’t think he helped his ticket much in the process, no glaring holes torn in the GOP campaign. I also don’t think that Ryan did a poor job or that he lost and ground for Joe’s other friend Mitt.

Now we are back to the Pres candidates winning it for themselves in the last 2 debates.

  • Bob Clark

David – Next to boorish Biden, Ryan looked incredibly mature, serious, smart and… presidential. A serious man for a serious job. Let’s do this!

    • DavidAppell

It’s too bad he can’t do math, or he might have been someone.

      • Joe Who?

Says the biggest zero on the blog.

  • BigT

Biden’s mugging and anger do not appeal to independents. They pay attention to style and not content.

  • old timer

did Biden really believe that taking 7.6 billion out of medicare would protect seniors? Maybe the 15 person board would? LOL

    • valley person

Are yo a senior? IS your Medicare buying you any less since Obamacare went into effect?

      I didn’t think so.

  • valley person

Biden gave an old style blue collar, lunch bucket Democrat performance. Picture sitting in a bar with your buddies, having a shot and a beer, saying how much you like Paul over there and then giving him a wedgie. What he did was show his people, and they know who they are, that Romney and Ryan are panty-waisted dorks who want to screw working people to give more money to rich people.

Intellectuals left and right have not idea how to react to what Biden did, but he was doing it for people who do not read these political blogs, so it doesn’t matter.
