KATU: WES pork-train is 30% of capacity

KATU-TV reports:

“WES is averaging 1,200 riders a day but its capacity is closer to 4,700. However, TriMet says you have to keep in mind that WES, a rush-hour only service, is tailored to a specific type of passenger – working folks – and that in our bad economy that can be hard to come by. So TriMet is accepting the low ridership numbers but are hoping to average 2,400 riders a day by the end of the year.”
