NY Times: Obama “misspoke” about keeping health insurance you like

by NW Spotlight

On Sunday the NY Times ran an editorial that said that “Mr. Obama clearly misspoke” when he made the pledge that if you like the insurance you have, you can keep it. The NY Times goes on to defend Obamacare, and calls people pointing out that reality is not matching what President Obama pledged: an “overblown controversy,” stoked by Congressional Republicans.

Another New York publication, New York magazine, has compiled this video of President Obama making his pledge.

Which New York publication has it right? Did President Obama tell Americans something that wasn’t true (over and over), or did he just “misspeak”?

Lipstick on a pig – Obama, incapable of lying, merely misspeaks. Ha!

These days nothing surprises me about the lengths the liberal press will go to to defend this man.

Misspeaking is when you make a statement, generally due to ignorance, a few times.

Doing the same, many times , is willful misrepresentation.

Doing so many times, not out of ignorance, but as a means of subterfuge, is by any definition a lie.

It is now clear the administration knew as early as 2010 that you would not be able to keep your plan. It was in legislation as published in the Federal Register.

The New York Times also knew this was the case, as it defies credibility to presume the most massive expansion of entitlements in a generation would have legislation unread by the newspaper staff.

We were lied to. That much is obvious.

Yet there will be no cover up. Watergate was a cover up. This will be a cheap crappy rental apartment spackle job. Everybody knows there is a gaping hole there. The mainstream press pretends not to notice the mismatched paint starting to build up as they continue to try and rent out this sow.

The lies are getting dingy, the filth is building up. This president is being sold to us on the same basis as a sphagetti stained wife beater wearing super tries to rent you a corner apartment in a tenement. Your intelligence is insulted when he plays up the corner view to distract you from the dead roaches on the sill. Nothing quite works, things are unsafe and you and he know it. Yet maybe, just maybe, you will swallow this crap, pretend everything is OK, and go along with the bullshit one more time.

The world is laughing at us.

Actually the world was laughing at the juvenile antics of conservatives that shut down government and threatened a disastrous default.

On health care, the world is wondering why we are so stupid as to not enact a single payer system, which is well known to be cheaper, better and universal.

Obamacare is nothing more than one more way to pick your pocket. That’s all it ever was. It is yet one more scam by our government to take money from the working class and give it to the government class…Those who “buy into” government with campaign contributions…In this case Doctors, Lawyers and Pharmacy.

And everyone who actually believes that low cost premiums exist for premium health products covering everything from anual checkups to medical calamities all for little or now cost. the Really fun lie about the loss of a policy that you liked or were willing to pay for, is that you can now get “better” coverage for “potentially” less. Who determins “Better” and what is “better” nobody has defined it. I better more coverage for thinngs you didn’t do before (anual checkups) or dont need ( a 50 yearold woman paying for pregnancy?) or a healthy 20 something paying for prostate cancer treatments?
the world has gone nuts over the sherwin willims catch phrase :cover the world”.

Often it’s what IS NOT in the law that’ significant, not what is in the law. That’s one reason why so many things in that law are undefined or left to “the discretion of the Secretary”. Just because you have “insurance” doesn’t mean that it covers anything.

Obama should have been truthful about his plan (he’s still have beaten Mr. 47%), but at least his lie didn’t lead to a few hundred people getting killed.
