Little Leaguers Set Example for MLB Proponents

Riverside Field in northeast Portland is an example of what individuals can do to foster their love of a sport, in this case baseball and softball. Riverside Field is a privately owned, operated and maintained Little League venue. Individuals who clamor to bring Major League Baseball to Oregon would do well to follow Riverside Little League’s example. MLB proponents should voluntarily and privately pool their resources to build a “field of dreams” in order to bring a professional team to The Beaver State. Such action would demonstrate how much the game means to them — just like the Riverside little leaguers and their parents do.
