Chris Telfer announces Independent bid for State Treasurer

Chris Telfer

Independent Party of Oregon (IPO)

The IPO has just sent out a press release saying State Lottery Commissioner Chris Telfer has announced her Independent Party bid for State Treasurer.

“We are thrilled to have someone as well-respected and highly qualified as Chris Telfer as our first announced candidate, said party secretary, Sal Peralta.

“She has a strong record in public service.  With her experience as a successful small business owner, a CPA, state lottery commissioner, Bend city councilor and state senator, she is certainly the most qualified of the announced candidates for state treasurer.  We look forward to supporting her efforts throughout the campaign.”

I thought she was a nitwit when she got into bed with the Democrats to steal the kicker causing her to get annihilated in the Republcan primary (after only one term). This move proves she’s just as sharp as ever.

Got to meet her several years ago, liked her then, will vote for her again. She has more brains than the entire corrupt bunch we have running the state now.

I’ve supported her locally for State Senator and in her previous run at State Treasurer. I think she threw our local representative at the time (Jason Conger) under the bus the last time the State redistricted and subsequently supported her opponent when she ran for re-election as State Senator.

Nonetheless, she’s a competent accountant and would be a good fit for State Treasurer.
