Ron Garcia Announces Candidacy for State Representative

Small Business Owner and Community Advocate running to Represent House District 37

West Linn, Ore.- Today, Property management owner Ron Garcia formally announced his candidacy for State Representative in House District 37. Garcia, 65, a resident of West Linn for nearly 25 years has volunteered throughout the community in a wide variety of projects.

“I have spent countless years volunteering at community events and fundraisers and coached in little league, working with youth groups and organized teen camps,” Garcia said. “I am now stepping up for public office because our state is failing our schools and over-taxing our citizens. Oregon’s Housing Crisis is worsening and the PERS unfunded liabilities threaten the future of our state.”

Ron Garcia and his wife Belinda own and manage The Garcia Group, a property management, real estate and maintenance company in the Portland metro area. Ron has been a REALTOR for 33 years. His expertise in the housing industry has also landed him positions as the Past- President and current Legislative Director of the

Rental Housing Alliance OREGON; a former Commissioner of the City of Portland Residential Services Commission; and in the past was a Director of Portland Metropolitan Association of REALTORS.

“I am not a career politician. My wife and I run a ‘mom and pop’ style business. We own a home and pay taxes and are deeply concerned with the direction of our state policies,” Garcia said. “The Super-Majority in Salem needs to be balanced with common sense legislators and I look forward to earning the support of my community in House District 37.”

House District 37 encompasses West Linn, Tualatin, Durham, King City, parts of Lake Oswego and Stafford. For more information regarding Ron Garcia and his campaign please visit his website at www.GoGarcia.org.
