Blocking Oregon beaches comes at huge cost

The decision to block access to many Oregon beaches and block coastal hotels from accepting tourists until after Memorial Day carries a big economic cost for Oregon coastal towns as the nearby Employment Department chart demonstrates.  The year-to-year employment growth shows that the worst hit areas in Oregon has been the Oregon Coasts.   Their plummeting job growth has been nearly double of other areas like Portland and Eastern Oregon.
