Clara Peoples, founded Portland’s Juneteenth celebration beginning first as a small step among her shipyard co-workers. KGW8-TV interviewed granddaughter, Jenelle Jack, on this. “She would be happy,” said Jack. “She would feel accomplished and have the biggest smile on her face.”
