Chart: Shipping costs spell Christmas dread

Looking at world shipping costs and you can see exploding prices which will effect consumer prices up and down the chain. This will especially impact the soon approaching Christmas season.   The highest cost increase came from the Shanghai-New York route which saw its costs rise by 8 times.

Some people speculate that if you haven’t ordered your Christmas gifts yet this month, you may not get it due to unpredictable delays.
