Election Results: Gas tax, Restaurant tax fail. Ambulance tax passes.

Here are the results from the Oregon General Election for local measures:

– Gas tax: Newport gas tax (21-206) failed 56% to 43%.

– Restaurant tax: Newport 5% restaurant tax (21-205) failed 68% to 31%. The Cannon Beach 5% restaurant tax (4-210) has a 23 Yes vote lead on election night, and is too close to call.

– Ambulance tax: The Western Lane ambulance tax (20-322) to fund government run ambulance is passing with 56% approval.

– Marijuana tax: Mill City measure (22-188) to approve marijuana sales/processing passed by 59%.

The Taxpayers Association of Oregon was involved in the gas tax, ambulance tax and both restaurant tax battles.
