Portland Police are seeking help in finding a suspect who left Communist signs at the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization’s (IRCO) Pacific Islander and Asian Family Center.

Portland Police statement: “On May 11, 2022, at approximately 6:00 p.m., an unidentified suspect unlawfully applied graffiti to the door of the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization’s (IRCO) Pacific Islander and Asian Family Center, located at 8040 NE Sandy Blvd. The graffiti, written in gold paint, depicts a hammer and sickle and the letters NPA and CPP, which the reporting party believes may be linked to a terrorist organization in the Philippines. The suspect appears to be white, unknown gender, wearing a black Adidas track jacket, red t-shirt under green overalls, and black Adidas shoes. The suspect has medium length, unkempt hair that appears lighter in color, possibly in a bushy ponytail. The suspect uses his right hand to apply the graffiti. Surveillance video of the suspect:”

It may be that Portland’s tolerance for political vandalism has inspired others.
