Governor Kate Brown has been under fire for providing early release, pardons and commutations for over 1,000 prisoners.

This is a flood of early releases happening in a short period of time.

So many clemencies, that the State is not sure on where they are at.  Read below:

The Oregonian states, “The governor’s office on Friday said it was unable to provide the most up-to-date numbers on clemency. According to a letter Brown sent to the Legislature in March, 519 clemency applications were pending at that time, 328 of which were submitted after Jan. 10.”

The fact that these clemencies were conducted in partial secrecy, it now only adds insult to injury that the state of things is not accurately known.

Taxpayers deserve better.
