Agency gives Covid $$ to wrong 3000 people (again!)

The Oregon Department of Human Services mistakenly doled out $1.46 million of emergency Covid EBT aid to 3,700 students who did not qualify to receive the funds.

Many of these students were also part of the mistaken $7.8 million the same agency doled out earlier in the pandemic. Back then 5,800 students who did not qualify were given Covid emergency funds.

Those 3,000 errors may seem big until you realize that Oregon accidentally gave 40,000 people Medicaid benefits they were not eligible for in 2017.
