On the 4th of July, Portland Fire Department had to respond to 50 calls for fire.

These calls and reducing carbon emissions are why Portland has outlawed all personal fireworks — even sparklers.

By comparison, last year the Portland Fire Department had to respond to over 1,950 fire calls related to homeless and homeless camps last year.

Does that mean Portland will crack down on homeless camps?   No.

The Taxpayers Association once did an article featuring the number of recent homeless RV fires in Portland.

This fire started at an abandoned tavern was started by homeless who kept breaking in, no matter how often the owner kept boarding up the place.
