Treasurer Read, Sen. Manning aim for SoS. Wheeler no go for Mayor.

• Oregon State Treasurer Tobias Read and state Senator James Manning have announced their run for Oregon Secretary of State in the Democrat Primary.  Tobias Read last year ran against Tina Kotek for Governor in the Oregon Democrat Primary and lost.

• Also in candidate news, Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler has announced that he is not running for re-election for Portland Mayor for what would have been a third term. Running for Mayor in 2024, early, is sitting Portland City Commissioner Mingus Mapps.  See a previous article on Mingus (Black Democrat scolds Portland on defunding police)

• State Senator Elizabeth Steiner announced a run for State Treasurer
