Cong. Blumenauer won’t re-run, Portland free-for-all

By Oregon Campaign Watch,

The Willamette Week reports that longtime Oregon Congressman Earl Blumenauer will not seek re-election.  He has been their Congressman since 1996 in the heart of Portland.

This coveted Congressional seat (Congress 3rd District) will undoubtedly attract nearly a dozen candidates on the Democrat primary side who wish to run in the most liberal and most Democrat district in Oregon.

This will happen in the same year as Portland’s City Commission is expanded from five seats to 12 members which by itself may attract dozens and dozens of new candidates.

Portland in 2024 will be the race to watch
