Shocking car theft video … (NW tops car crimes)

The video of a Puyallup man, Eric Smith, having his car broken into followed by an altercation and a car-ramming.  Last year both Oregon and Washington cited as among the top car thefts states in America.

This follows a pattern.

Two men were arrested in Portland for car-jacking just two weeks ago.

A Gresham man was trying to stay warm in his car during the Portland snow storm when he was shot and car-jacked.

A car-jacking was thwarted in McMinnville outside a retail store.

The good news is that car theft crime wave has peaked and is slowly reversing in Oregon.  But not soon enough.
