Back to Reality, The Progressives Were Just Wrong

Now that most of the election results are in, I can declare myself a happy American. Usually, I’m a huge fan of national elections but this was the most divisive, hate-filled and loathsome campaign season I have witnessed in my eighty years. And even though former-President and current President-elect Donald Trump was not my choice in the primary season, I am overjoyed that he won this general election convincingly. Not just an electoral college win but a massive popular vote win.

But more importantly, this represented a convincing lossfor the progressive wing of the Democrat Party. This is an element of the political spectrum that has run roughshod over the democratic process ever since former President Barack Obama (D) was elected in 2008. Mr. Obama began the process by classifying Americans into “boxes” and then marginalizing and denigrating those in “boxes” that didn’t agree with him. Middle class and poor whites were determined to be ignorant and clinging to their guns and bibles – as if that were a sub-human trait. African-Americans were deemed to be the progressives’ “house slaves” to be told where, what and when to do and, thereafter to comply without objection and without hesitation. The object was to keep them dependent on the government, just as the pre-Civil War slaves were dependent on their “masters.” They were deemed to be so indebted to the Democrat Party that they would never stray – thus the comments of President Joe Biden (D) that if you didn’t vote Democrat you weren’t really Black. You may think that was just one of Mr. Biden’s many gaffes, but in reality it was just saying aloud what they have whispered for years.

There were the elite rich – particularly those instant millionaires in Silicon Valley and the money-changers in the banks and investment houses of Wall Street who accepted that they would be targets of envy for excess wealth just so long as no real action was taken against them and the spout for political donations continued wide open. For whatever reason, being invited to their vacuous parties seemed to be important.

There were women – unless of course you were a woman opposed to abortion and then you were considered dirt or bimbos, intellectually dependent on their men instead of the progressive movement. And yet as much as they thought they were differentiating themselves, they all clung to an identifiable sameness.

There were gays and lesbians – so long as you were a Democrat gay or lesbian. And the same was true for the transgender community. It was embarrassing how many progressive politicians trucked our their children and claimed they were “transgender” in another bow to virtue signaling.

And there was DEI – diversity, equity and inclusion – that cared not for your skills or contributions but only in which “box” you were placed. Businesses were expected to hire based on color, ethnicity and sexual orientation rather than competency, productivity and innovation. And investors were told that investing in these companies was not only virtuous but “more profitable” over the long run. They were wrong in both instances. Today major companies who bent to the threats of the progressives have begun to fail (Budweiser Light, Boeing, etc.) and most others began to publicly disavow the whole woke agenda in general and DEI in particular. Investments houses that promoted DEI funds, lost participation in those funds when it became apparent that DEI resulted in lower profits –profits being the specific reason that most people invest.

All in all, it has been a moment in history much like in Alice Through a Looking Glass. Right is wrong, up is down, achievement is a disqualifier, men are women are men. And a real discourse could never be had because of the immediate accusations of racism, sexism, homophobia, misogyny, or whatever dismissive slur they can invent. All begun by Mr. Obama, and reinforced by Mr. Biden in the most obvious ways – always to his administration’s shame in the end and to the detriment of free speech.

But all of that, it appears, has changed. People of color, limited by the boxes in which they were placed have revolted and declared they will make up their own minds, vote their own opinions and pursue their own destinies. And the progressives suffered all of it at this election. Men and women are revolting at the prospect of men pretending to be women so they can dominate in women’s sports. And young women are refusing to participate in women’s sports because of the unfairness of six foot, five inch males using their biological physical superiority to beat and in some instances harm women..

The sooner that this rubbish is swept away by Mr. Trump and his trash hauling business the better. It is an unnecessary distraction to the real business at hand – close the border, increase energy production, reduce government regulation and government deficit spending, rebuild the military and stand tall against the forces of evil in the world: Russia, Iran, Communist China, North Korea and the proliferation of blood thirsty militants creating havoc in the name of Islam.

And along the way, the working men and women, the unions representing the workers in private enterprise, and the family owned businesses just might recapture their Democrat Party from the progressives who are just old-line big government socialists. We’ve seen their brand of governance before and it routinely benefits the powerful and suppresses that masses.

Congratulations to all of you who were never fooled by Mr. Obama, Mr Biden, and Vice-president Kalamata Harris (D). Righting the Ship of State began Tuesday.
