SALEM, Ore. – This evening, Representative-Elect Christine Drazan (R-Canby) was selected by House Republicans to serve as their new leader. Also elected to the leadership team were Representative Lucetta Elmer (R-McMinnville) as Deputy Leader and Virgle Osborne (R-Roseburg) as Whip.

“I’m deeply honored that my Republican colleagues have placed their trust and confidence in me to serve as their leader,” said Drazan. “I’m looking forward to fighting alongside them every day for a future that puts the people of Oregon ahead of political partisanship. We have a lot of work to do. The status quo simply isn’t working for Oregon families. Our caucus is united in our resolve to push for policies that put people ahead of politics, to hold those in power accountable for their failures, and to get Oregon back on the right track.”

“It’s no secret that 2025 is going to be a challenging session, but I am confident that Representative-Elect Drazan will be a formidable leader to push back against the Democrats’ attempts to raise taxes and pass radically progressive policies,” said outgoing House Republican Leader Representative Jeff Helfrich (R-Hood River). “I am excited to support Christine as she leads our caucus and becomes the voice for common-sense Oregonians statewide.”

“I’m thrilled to have Representatives Elmer and Osborne joining me in their new roles as we prepare for next year’s legislative session,” concluded Drazan. “Each member of our caucus has stepped up to represent their communities, and our leadership team will do everything in our power to support them in their efforts to represent their districts and serve our state. House Republicans are ready to get to work.”
