Let Ukraine win

This week it was announced that President Biden has reversed himself by allowing Ukraine to target locations inside of Russia using the missile systems we provided.  Ukraine hit ammunition facilities inside Russia.  Immediately, many conservatives and lawmakers, like U.S. Senator Josh Hawley, said that Biden was pushing everyone to the brink of World War III with this decision.   Russia is extremely vulnerable on its border, which is why Ukraine was able to breach it this summer.   This decision makes Ukraine stronger.  Everyone wants Ukraine to be in a stronger position when Trump takes office and tries to end this war in a few months.

Remember, when Russia first struck Ukraine, Obama refused to send weapons but rather sent military meals.  Under Trump, he sent them anti-tank rockets.   Trump’s policy is “Peace through Strength”.  Biden has been trying to micromanage a war — which is a legendary mistake in the world’s failed wars.  Biden gives Ukraine missiles but tells them what they can and cannot do.    Let Ukraine do what it needs to do to win.   President-Elect Trump needs as much leverage and resources as possible when he comes to the deal table next year.  Give Trump the strength tools he needs to win.

When Biden blocked Israel from certain advances into Gaza, it delayed and prolonged the conflict and caused Israel to use more ground troops when it preferred more missile strikes.    Biden forced Israel to play it more safe, and Hamas still killed our hostages.   You can’t micromanage war.

There are so many things to criticize Biden on his handling of this conflict — but his decision to pull back strings on missiles this week is a rare good one that will help Trump in 2025.

Having said all this, Biden also cancelled Ukraine loans this week.  This is a way that Biden is taking things off the table for Trump in 2025.  That is not the role of a lame duck President.  So tragic and political and unhelpful.

P.S. If we are moving towards Word War III it is not the doing of the United States who gets blamed for everything.  Blame Russia, which has invaded three different nations in just over a dozen years and has quietly tried to subvert several other nations as well.
