The Taxpayers Association of Oregon warned you about this 35-cent gas tax — IT IS NOT GOING AWAY!

KATU-TV Headline this week,“ODOT says budget woes will slow response to snowstorms across Oregon”

Budget woes?

• The Oregon gas tax went up 5% this year.

Oregon DMV fees went up 7% to 100% this year.

Yet, ODOT cut 25 maintenance positions at a time when we gave them more tax money from these huge tax and fee increases.

Where did the money go?

Now ODOT is floating a 35-gas tax increase to fill their budget.

This means you can expect less snow plowing and less emergency storm preparedness services without a massive gas tax increase.

Taxpayers need a fiscal reckoning of where our gas tax and DMV fees are going.
